This project tells the early story of Leon Breitling in 1884 in St. Imier, set in the Jura mountains and in an era when time suddenly became measurable, comparable and indispensable. A moment in which craft precision turned into vision, and a workshop into an idea that would shape industry, science and sport for generations.

At the centre stands the founding of Breitling's first atelier. No myth, no glamour. Work, focus and the uncompromising ambition not just to measure time, but to rethink it. The story follows Leon Breitling as a quiet observer and active shaper of a world in upheaval, in the midst of the industrial revolution.

What does this project show?

With AI, historical scenes are reconstructed visually and interpreted cinematically. Workbenches, movements, tools and early production processes are not shown illustratively but made atmospherically tangible. Documentary storytelling meets modern AI film production. History stays fact-based, yet feels close, palpable and alive.

How does the AI reconstruction work?

What once could only be described or shown schematically can now be visualised precisely. AI allows early watchmaking history to be staged with a level of detail that classic formats can hardly achieve. It is not about effects, but about understanding. About context. About the feel of a time when precision became necessity.

All images and video sequences are based on historical research. Content is generated with state-of-the-art AI tools, refined by hand and then translated into cinematic sequences. The result: coherent visual narratives that don't explain an era but let you experience it.
